آمَنْتُ بِاللّٰہِ كَمَا هُوَ بِأَسْمَائِهِ وَصِفَاتِهِ، وَقَبِلْتُ جَمِيعَ أَحْكَامِه
Iman e Mujmal – Transliteration In Arabic:
Āmantu billāhi kamā huwa bi asmā’ihi wa ṣifātihi, wa qabiltu jamī‘a aḥkāmihi
Iman e Mujmal – Translation In English
I believe in Allah as He is, with all His names and attributes, and I accept all His commandments.
Explanation
Iman-e-Mujmal (Concise Declaration of Faith) is a short but powerful summary of a Muslim’s belief. It expresses complete faith in Allah’s being, His names, His attributes, and His divine laws.
Reciting this strengthens one’s core Islamic belief (Aqeedah) and renews faith by acknowledging that everything in a Muslim’s life, obedience, law, and purpose, is bound by Allah’s will.
It’s often taught to children to help them understand the foundation of belief in Islam: that Allah is unique, all-powerful, and worthy of worship alone.
Incident from Sunnah
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ emphasized that faith (Iman) is not only verbal declaration but also conviction of the heart and action through deeds. He said:
“Iman is to believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and destiny, the good and the bad thereof.”
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith 8)
This Hadith connects deeply with Iman-e-Mujmal, reminding believers that acknowledging Allah’s attributes and accepting His commandments are essential pillars of complete faith.
