Transliteration:
(Bismil-lah) allahumma innee aAAoothu bika minal-khubthi wal-khaba-ith

Explanation of Dua Before Entering the Toilet:
This dua is a powerful shield of protection before entering the restroom, a place where impurity exists and where humans are vulnerable.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught his Ummah to seek Allah’s refuge from the unseen harms that might exist in such places.
By reciting this dua:
- You enter with the consciousness of Allah
- You protect yourself from jinn and evil influences
- You act upon a clear Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ
It also instills humility, acknowledging that even in small daily actions, a believer stays connected to their Creator.
Dua Before Entering the Toilet – Incident from Sunnah:
It is narrated that the Prophet ﷺ never entered the toilet without saying this dua.
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 142; Sahih Muslim, Hadith 375)
This shows how deeply the Prophet ﷺ practiced remembrance of Allah, even in the most routine moments of life, teaching us that spirituality is woven through everyday actions.
