أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ
Transliteration:
A‘ūdhu bikalimātillāh it-tāmmāti min sharri mā khalaq
Translation:
“I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.”
Explanation of Dua for Protection from Evil Eye:
This dua is a reminder that Allah is the ultimate protector against unseen harms, including the harm caused by envy or the evil eye. By reciting it:
- We acknowledge that all protection comes from Allah alone.
- We are reminded to turn to Him in moments of fear or uncertainty.
- We recognize that envious glances or malicious intentions have no power except by Allah’s will.
Even something as ordinary as daily interactions can expose a person to the harm of the evil eye, so this dua teaches mindfulness, humility, and reliance on Allah’s protection.
Dua for Protection from Evil Eye – Incident from Sunnah:
It is narrated that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would teach his companions to recite this dua for themselves, their children, and their possessions to safeguard against envy and harm.
